First, a note from the compiler, Tim Brooks

It is with some trepidation that I offer this limited index to In The Groove readers. Your esteemed editor, Phil Stewart, came across a similar index I had submitted in 1985 (!!) and asked if he might publish it now. It seemed a shame to leave out the last 15 years' worth of articles, however, so I have compiled this updated version.

As some of you may be aware, I have been indexing In The Groove (along with numerous other collector publications) for many years in my Current Bibliography column in the Association for Recorded Sound Collections Journal, and this listing is drawn from that database. Hence there are a few limitations. Current Bibliography covers only principal articles that deal with recording history. Articles on current subjects, such as meetings and auction results, are not included, nor are reviews of new books and CD's. The contents of Steve Ramm's fine column on current happenings will not be found here. Also, entry conventions for Current Bibliography have changed somewhat over the last 20 years, so there may be a few minor inconsistencies; for example, page numbers were not included until they began in 1991.

Nevertheless, I hope this index will be helpful, showing as it does the wide range of articles published in In The Groove.
